Emma Thurlow
Business & Sales ManagerI first came to Brighton in 2004 whilst studying for a degree that focused on the management of arts and events including their wider impact in terms of city regeneration and tourism. It was May at the start of the Festival, and I watched the Children’s Parade – thousands of children marching through the streets with hand-made puppets, lots of colour and excitement filled the city. It was this that made me fall in love with Brighton.
So, I moved straight down here after graduating and it became my home city where I choose to work and raise a family. I started my career managing business events in the city’s hotel venues before moving to the VisitBrighton Convention Bureau where I had the privilege of selling our wonderful city both nationally and internationally as a key business tourism destination.
I am proud to sell and promote Brighton’s main conference and exhibition centre, indeed the largest convention centre in the South East outside of London, and I would be delighted to support your organisation in securing your next event in our inspirational building and city by the sea!

Louise Wyborn
Senior Sales & Client Services ExecutiveI’m originally from Bath in the South West, but I’ve called Sussex home for nearly 30 years. Living in the South East offers the best of both worlds: the calm of the coast and the convenience of being just 20 minutes from Gatwick.
I love making the most of our warm but rare, sunny British days by the sea — and when the weather inevitably turns, it’s wonderfully easy to escape to the far more reliable sunshine of Europe.
My career has always been in Sales. I began in the travel industry before moving into the world of events, where I found my long‑term professional place. I’ve been part of the Conference Sales Team at the Brighton Centre since October 2006 — a testament to how much I enjoy what I do and how great it is to work here.
I’m responsible for securing our regular conference business, negotiating multi‑year conference contracts with new clients along with our loyal, long standing clients. I act as the main point of contact, guiding them seamlessly from the sales stage through to operations.
Client account management is where I’m at my best — building strong relationships, maintaining them, and making sure every client feels supported throughout the process. I’ve always believed that when you genuinely enjoy what you do, you’re happier, and when you’re happy, you thrive. That mindset drives the way I work every day.
